I never felt compelled to join myself, but you are right, those that do good charity work should be admired. I go to UF, and the sorority girls are ridiculous. And the KD's are definitely a hodge podge, but I love em! IMO I dont think they will ever be quite on the same level as Theta and Pi Phi again. dg is in NO WAY on the same level as achio, they have been going down for years and this years PC proved that. So if the charity work is what you are worried about, do some research on what the specific philanthropies of the chapters at your school are. Chi O did end up rushing against Kappa because Kappa branches out more than Pi Phi and Theta so Chi O has to rush against them. ,Greek life at UT has been wonderful for my daughter, but she had to go in with an open mind and keep it. I went DG, (slu++y/partners) reputation but undeserved, except for 30-40%. ,If you are coming to UT really raw, meaning no greek connections what so ever, you have a very large uphill battle. Many consider them obsessed with their looks and say they have a reputation for body image issues. Their academic reputation is good, but they also have a reputation for avoiding tough majors in favor of less-demanding subjects that dont conflict with their social lives. Kappa is rich and cute. I would spend time reading some of the recruitment stories on UT to understand just how brutal the cuts can be

,No one here should discuss sorority reputations, and certainly not name names, because frankly with over 200 girls in each house you really cant pigeonhole them that way. This is why sorority stereotypes exist. The consensus, if there is one, is that Chi Omega is respected but not necessarily exalted among sororities. It's just a great place to meet friends that you will have for the rest of your life. Circle around KD and ADPi. Pi Beta Phi is known as Pi Bitchy Phi and is the recognitized,as far and above,'The Top' sorority on my huge Greek-led campus. I dont think ADPi, KD, and DG rush based on looks. To stereotype any organization and the members a part of these organizations is belittling of what these organization were founded on. Sorry, I was pretty brutal with Gamma Phi Beta. Isn't a lot of this subject to what school you are at? I was pressured to go one way because I had friends who were already members of a certain house but I ended up joining a different one and I've never been happier. Like my mom always said, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all. I can not believe that this is something that exists. Chapters that are complacent about what they think can never happen will be caught off guard by the rise or groups that have their eye on the ball. I've met s lot of heavy, mean, unattractive kappas and KDs. I am happy to say I still have close friends from college 20 years later, sans a sorority. Woody H. I find that Pi Beta Phi, Kappa Alpha Theta, and Kappa Kappa Gamma, all are considered "top tier' nationally. Tri Delt: Really outgoing and fun girls. Bottom Tier: KD, ADPi Girls who pledge with Delta Gamma are usually very happy when accepted into the fold. Chi O Pi Phi and Tri Delt are usually pretty strong up there as well.
